Covid Updates

Parents, if your child is experiencing any of these symptoms below, please do not attend school and email Nurse Natalie at [email protected]:
 
  • fever
  • chills
  • repeated shaking and chills
  • new or worsening cough
  • sore throat
  • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • muscle pain
  • headache
  • new loss of taste or smell
  • nausea, vomitting or diarrhea
 
If any member of your household is awaiting the result of a Covid test or will be getting a covid test that day, siblings will need to stay home from school until you receive a negative test result.
Confirmed COVID Positive
  • A positive student will need to stay home for 5 days, with Day 0 being the first day symptoms or a positive test, whichever is first.
  • A positive result shall be reported to Nurse Natalie. 
  • On Day 6:
    • If the student's symptoms have resolved and is without fever for 24 hours without the use medication, they may return to school but must wear a well-fitting mask between days 6 and 10. 
    • If the student's symptoms persist or worsen, the student must continue to stay at home until the student's symptoms have resolved and is without fever for 24 hours without the use of medication. At that time, the student may return to school but must wear a well-fitting mask for the next five days. 
 
Asymptomatic But Exposed to Someone Outside My Household that has COVID
  • If a student is exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID, they do not need to quarantine so long as they are asymptomatic. Please continue to watch the student for symptoms. 
 
Symptomatic and Exposed to Someone that has COVID
  • If a student is exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID and the student develops symptoms consistent with COVID they should test immediately.
    • If positive, follow the rules for confirmed COVID positive. 
    • If negative, the student must stay home and test again on day 5-7. If negative, the student may return to school. If positive, follow the rules for confirmed COVID positive. 
  • The students may return sooner if their symptoms have resolved and they have been without fever for 24 hours without the use of medication, they have a physician's diagnosis other that COVID.
 
 
Symptomatic but Not Known to Have Been Exposed to Someone that Has COVID
  • If a student is not exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID but has developed symptoms consistent with COVID, they will be asked to see their physician or obtain a COVID test. They will be able to return with a physician's diagnosis other than COVID or produce a negative COVID test, so long as they are fever free for 24 hours.
